Corcovado National Park
It is one of the 27 National Parks of Costa Rica. Located on the Osa Peninsula, Corcovado National Park protects the largest remaining tract of Tropical Humid Forest on the Pacific Coast of Central America, making it one of the most important protected areas in all of Central America. Corcovado Park has become an important international research center for the study of Tropical Wet Forest ecology and also for ecoturism.
It protects nearly 47,000 hectares including different habitats, from mangrove swamp and yolillo palm to cloud forest. The park is home to more than 400 species of birds, nearly 150 amphibians and reptiles, and 140 mammals, with roughly 85 of them being bats.
You can expect to see large flocks of macaws in flight or feeding on almond trees by the beaches.
Four species of sea turtles nest on the park’s beaches.
The park supports and protects endangered species such as: White lipped Peccaries, Scarlet Macaws, and also the elusive Jaguar.
The Jaguar is the third largest wild cat in the world and is roaming around the park. The estimated population in Corcovado is 30.
The driest months: January-April
The rainiest months: August-November. This is also the best time for Whale Watching, with rain mostly occurring in the afternoon.

Tour Description
This tour starts at 8am, but we can customize your departure.
We will take a speedboat from Sierpe to Corcovado, passing through a Riparian forest and the second largest Mangal (Mangrove Forest) in Central America. Here we are going to give you an explanation of this amazing ecosystem, which shelters endemic and endangered species.
After 45 minutes on the river we get to La Boca (River Mouth), where we get to ride the ocean waves into the largest ocean on the planet -- the Pacific! After 40 more minutes on the ocean we arrive at Corcovado (San Pedrillo Station) where we will have a wet beach landing.
We will do two hikes; the second one to the waterfall so that you may cool off.
At 2:00-2:30 pm we will take our boat back to the mangroves where we are going to search for more fauna and will be back in Sierpe at 4:00-4:30pm.
